About

Imagine an event that gives the Cruising Skipper all the resources & support needed to Cruise with Confidence from French Polynesia (or any of the South Pacific Islands) to New Zealand, do so safely and have some fun along the way!

There’s a lot to see along the way with many choices to be made so if you want to go fast or slow, take a northern route through the Northern Cooks, perhaps Samoa then south, or the southern route via Nuie, the choice is yours.

Behind each of these decisions is a wealth of experience at Rally Control. John & Lyn Martin have been cruising this region for the last 25 years, racked up over 80,000 miles in their own boat Windflower, are the authors of many of the Cruising Guides to the region and as Ambassadors to PredictWind have the Weather and Passage Planning experience that has helped a host of cruisers over the years complete the passage to New Zealand safely and in comfort.

For those that are already in the South West Pacific, there’s the option to join the rally for just the leg to New Zealand.

Preliminary Program- Is still a work in progress!

Why do people join yacht rallies?

The purpose of a rally is to enhance your cruising experience. Our partner rallies are organised with the aim of bringing together a group of like-minded people who want to share the experience of cruising, and benefit from the exclusive privileges they can arrange. It’s all about giving you value for money, a unique and unforgettable experience, and the benefit of local knowledge.

It’s YOUR experience – make it what YOU want

As a rally participant, you can choose how much (or how little) involvement you have with rally activities and other rally participants. There is no pressure! It’s not a race, it’s not “follow-me” sailing, and it’s certainly not a dictatorship. You can participate in some, all or none of the activities and itineraries – it’s entirely up to you. Want to break away from the group and do your own thing for a while? That’s fine! You can leave or join the group at any time you wish.
